Life's soundtrack: Nothing Else Matters

As i mentioned in my Introduction, i love music, especially Rock. I don't know how and when i fell deeply in love with Rock but i can say i grew up with Rock. Maybe when i was a child, my hometown was far away from city, and my best friend at that moment was a radio, i listened to everything from that tiny radio and music was getting to be a part of my life, and this song was one of the first songs i used to hear too much and it also was the first song of Metallica i heard.

One reason i love this song because of its rhythm, kinda soft and easy to listen compared to with other songs of Metallica, but moreover it has a meaningful lyric and a whole romantic story behind.

It was a love story of James Hetfield - singer and rhythm guitarist of Matellica, he wrote this song while talking on the phone with his girlfriend when he was in a tour. Since he held his phone with one hand and other hand worked on his guitar to express the uncontrollable feeling.

So close, no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
and nothing else matters

Never opened myself this way
Life is ours, we live it our way
All these words I don't just say
and nothing else matters

Trust I seek and I find in you
Every day for us something new
Open mind for a different view
and nothing else matters

never cared for what they do
never cared for what they know
but I know

James dedicated the lyrics to his girlfriend, indicating the bond, the distance and the rumor they shared when he had to travel around the world for tour was nothing because they were always close at hearts. James never wanted to put this song in the album because he had written for himself but once day Lars Ulrich, the drummer of Metallica, heard it by chance and.... we have a masterpiece.

I don't know how long that romance lasted but the song has now become a staple in Metallica's live performances, and has been dedicated to their fans.

To me, that song is not a song, it is also an encouragement, belief and hope. It got me through the tough time in my life. Just find a quiet place at night, light a candle, close my eyes and listen to this song and everything will be okay.

Forever trusting who I AM
and nothing else matters

Another cover version i really love from Apocalyptica, a band plays metal music on 4 cellos. Unique and totally different.

What is your Six – Word Memoir??

Can you tell your life story in exactly six words??? This idea comes from very good novelist, Hemingway legend, once he was asked to write a full story in six words in a bar bet. And he responded “For sale: baby shoes, never worn”

In this spirit, for the past several years, two editor – Rachel Fershleiser and Larry Smith – from the storytelling site Smith Magazine invited writers “famous and obscure” to distill their own stories into exactly six- words.

It is over three years since they put their project up at www.smithmag.net. And now it has been up to 250,000 six-word memoirs on the site. Every day, every morning and they are definitely different.

The six – word memoir challenge is also a chance to define people as they want to see. Whatever, those tiny memoirs are sometimes sad, sometimes fun but always concise and memorable. It is a part of one’s real life.

Though those six-word memoirs come from famous people and obscure people but most of them are related to life experience: love, heartbreak, life and death, the moment of change, the moment of contrast, career, family…..

You can find all tackle life, love, work and everything in six words in the latest edition” It All Change In An Instant: More Six – Word Memoirs From Writers Famous and Obscure”

My New Year resolution.

Happy New year, everyone ( i hope it is not too late to say that) .

As New Year comes, everyone wishes a a peaceful, healthy and joyful year, so am i. But to me, there are a lot of new things i want to learn, a lot of new places i want to go. Actually i do not have any big plans because i know all my plans never go on the right track so just step by step.

One thing i want to do most is joining Salsa dancing class ( hmm, i can say i will do it soon)

After finish English class at ALP, i hope i can enroll in the Art Institutes of California - Orange County. I am still considering about my major between Advertising and Media Arts.

I know, most of people want to lose weight but i really hope i can gain some weight. And i will try to give up smoking every time i feel depressed, please do not misunderstand here, i am not addicted in smoking but i smoke a lot when i stress or despair. ( bad habit)

I already make plans to go to Catalina Island someday and fly to San Fransisco to visit my friends and party like hell there.

Oh, the last thing i really want to make it happen in this year is having a boyfriend. :D

Just simple things and i hope they will go through.

My life, my choice

" Live the life you want to live, be the one you want to remember, make decisions, make mistake. If you fall, at least you tried."

MY LIFE, MY CHOICE so I decided to be here in USA as my first destination in long journey exploring to the big world. My name is Tuong Vy and it is also name of a wild, beautiful and strong flower from my hometown and of course i am a Vietnamese :). About my name, it was a beautiful memory of my parents, they first met each other at Dalat - a highland of South Vietnam - in July when that flower blossomed so their first daughter (it's me) was named by the flower to remind to their romantic experience. Another hand, my parents want their daughter become not only pretty but also strong enough to face to the tough life.

I am Scorpion woman sign :), the most misunderstood of all astrology signs. I am very interested in the occult, the paranormal, conspiracy theories and other types of similar unknown mysteries. And most of people meet me at the first time they feel i am really cold, hard to understand, actually that is my capability of hiding my true feelings and motivations. But in other hand, i am very sensitive, emotional, passionate and faithful. All you need is looking into my eyes deeply and you can find out my true face behind my brave mask.

I like all outdoor activities, dancing, cooking, reading, watching movies, listening music, esp all kind of rock (kinda weird to a girl but it is me)I am very interested in dark and Gothic art.

Before i came USA, I had 4 and a half years working as a production assistant in the biggest and longest Production House in Vietnam. With that job I not only had chance to travel around my country to capture every moment of beautiful life but also made new friends with many creative directors, talented directors around the world. Working with them I opened my mind, even changed the point of view, I had a more obstacles and challenges to examine myself. All my friends told me that their creativity and talent not only got from high - education but also from the experience of travel around the world. And i had a dream, I want to explore the big world outside by my own way so that i can become the most creative, experienced and high - educated Producer in my country, then i chose America as my first step to pursue my dream

Maybe you will wonder why i chose America? Because of its multiply - cultures. Just living in America and whole big world comes to me. :)
